The Hunger Games Series (Movies and Books): Bitch I'm Team Peeta By Yomna

Warning: This post contains excessive fangirling and LOTS of spoilers, you've been warned.

Even though you don't need it here's a blurb: When 16-year-old Katniss's young sister, Prim, is selected as District 12's female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart Peeta, are pitted against bigger, stronger representatives, some of whom have trained for this their whole lives. she sees it as a death sentence. But Katniss has been close to death before. For her, survival is second nature.
First of all, let's talk about the books:
Rating: 5/5
These are my absolute favorite books of all time.
I'm OBSESSED with these. For the following reasons:
Girl-Power: I am currently in my teenage years and feel quite empowered by the thought that someone so young who happens to be female can do all the things that Katniss has done. Hopefully, if we have more books like these girls can be empowered to make significant difference.
Great Message: There are so many YA books that talk down to us and don't really capture the reality of war and how you lose a lot even if you win. But this book, I mean it's brutal in everything, even when you wish it wouldn't, which makes it just so much more powerful.
Ending: One of the reason why I like The Hunger Games so much more than Divergent is because of the ending. In Divergent, she loses everything, including herself, saving the ones she loves. In The Hunger Games, Katniss loses a great deal, but it's all about things can be good again after loss, that even after you lose things, there are people and things that can be saved.
I don't know...Just...Everything: They're just so fast-paced and amazing, and I finished the books in three days, staying up at night because I couldn't bear to stop reading.
NOW THE MOVIES: 5/5
I think personally, the movies for such a popular series are really important, because that's what most people are going to see and that's what people will think of the books as. So the cast is vital.
Jennifer Lawrence is phenomenal: From her first scene to her last, she captivates, and her passion and emotion is just so beautiful on screen and thank god that she got cast as Katniss.
Josh Hutcherson: has great emotional depth, is super cute, and incredible as Peeta.
Liam Hemsworth: See, I'm trying not to hate him for his hotness. Because of his hotness, people are Team Gale even though Peeta is clearly the better choice for Katniss.
The first Hunger Games movie was an incredible debut. Solid performance and great emotion. I love the depth they gave Rue, because she's such a representation of why The Capitol is so awful, and why The Hunger Games are so cruel.
The second Hunger Games movie: caught fire in box office and really enchanted audiences worldwide, becoming the first female-led movie to top the box office since, get this, 1973. Usually sequels are worse than their prequels *clears throat* Insurgent, but in the case of Catching Fire, it was perfect, the actors and actresses did their best and the sets and atmospheres were fantastic. Not to mention the fantastic beach kiss.

DAMN, look at Katniss getting some.
They are cute AF.
I can now die a happy woman.

Mockingjay Part 1: Some people don't understand that Mockingjay Part 1 is important because that's when Katniss really develops as a character and comes into her own. And for these movies to really reflect the cruelty of war, we had to have time to Katniss to recover and realize how much effect she has on this huge thing that she wants no part of.
That being said, Mockingjay Part 1 was phenomenal. One of things I was worried about was it having too many complicated ideas to show on screen, but Mockingjay Part 1 was really well-done and perfect.
Mockingjay Part 2: I mean holy sh*t this movie was the best thing that ever happened to me. If Mockingjay Part 1's ideas were complicated, then Mockingjay Part 2 was the bomb. Everything comes to an end you know, this fascinating story just really concludes beautifully and thoroughly. There are no more questions to be asked, no more games, no more cruelty, just the peace that the characters so dearly want.
First: let me address people who are Team Gale: Peeta has it all. He is willing to DIE for Katniss and would do anything for her. He's always putting her life above his, even though she doesn't return his affections, AT FIRST. He has the peace and steadiness that Gale doesn't have, and above all, he understands this huge part of her life that Gale never will.
Gale is great character in the beginning, protecting his own, kind, and caring, but then later on, the power goes to his head and he designs these traps that are simply morally wrong. He doesn't understand that Capital citizens or not, they're still people, and our job is to make sure no more people have to die than ABSOLUTELY necessary. Like Prim, for example.
And above all, Peeta loves her and understand her, and I don't think that's worth nothing. Sure, Gale's got abs, but Peeta wins because he has personality, understanding, passion, and absolute love for her.
BITE ME.
The Epilogue: was beautiful. The babies, the cuteness, absolutely beautiful and enchanting. Perfect ending for our dear star-crossed lovers.
Real or not Real?: OMG this scene had me crying. It was flawless. They were just laying in bed, doing nothing particularly interesting, but you could see the love between them and how much they valued each other.
Cat Scene: I was sobbing. Jennifer Lawrence is sensational. Oscar-worthy.
So I guess it's over. At first it was okay because I still had Mockingjay Part 2 to see but now it's really truly over. Well goodbye Katniss, I'll miss you and Peeta and your world and Jennifer Lawrence and all the things I'm so grateful you gave me.
Enjoy this high quality picture of everlark!
